“Lead On!”
NHLC 2012 Workshops
The Game Spot (Megan
Gruber and Colson Shradar)
The purpose of this workshop on small and large group games
is to create a relaxed environment to learn the structure of games, as well as
how to effectively lead the games. Join us to learn how to be a better leader
for the games presented at your Happening!
Your Electronic Self

In this workshop on internet safety, internet responsibility
and how your electronic signature should be an image of yourself, we will
discuss the positive and negative effects on the use of social networking media
in your own Happening community. We will also discuss ways to be responsible
with your portrayed image online and ways to positively and effectively spread
God’s love and promote the ministry of Happening.

make it… teach you, teach you how to make it! Learn ways to spice up your

Reunion Workshop (Betsy
Cobb, Davis Schneider and Stockton Williams)
The reunion workshop will present ideas about Happening
related programs to experience after the happening weekend.
Servant Leadership
(Bob Bjorklund and Chandler Whitman)
Do you ever feel like Happening is more
for the staff than the Happeners? Have you ever heard the phrase, “you haven’t
really happened, until you’ve staffed happening?” Happening is a weekend
experience designed for those who are going through the program for the first
time. The weekend can be the most spiritually moving for the participants when
the staff members lead from a place of servanthood based completely on the
growth of the Happeners. Join us at this workshop to learn about servant
leadership, as well as receive ideas and tools to use in your own staff
trainings.
Love Out Loud (Thomas
Greneker and Davis Schneider)
Come share and learn the different ways to experience and
create music during a Happening weekend. Both musicians and non-musicians are
welcome.
Creative Worship
(Krisan Lamberti and Stockton Williams)
Worship is the act of devotion and adoration we show to
God. It is the process of being open to
God’s presence in a communal situation.
When done creatively, worship uplifts the spirit and energizes our whole
being. Come join us to learn tools and
easy to use worship – a way to spice up your time praising God.
Videos (Bob Bjorklund
and Randy Winton)
Some Happening programs have found that using videos during their weekends adds something special. This workshop focuses on the use of videos, making your own videos and where to use them during a Happening weekend. We will also look at the legality of showing these videos and how to obtain a license to do so.
