WHO WE ARE
We are the Happening National Committee, a board of adults, youth, and clergy who love the Happening movement and are committed to providing leaders of the movement from all over the world with the opportunities to participate in further developing their programs.
Krisan Lamberti serves as the Executive Director of the Happening National Committee. She first came to Happening by listening to the voice calling her, the then-Spiritual Director of Happening in the Diocese of Southeast Florida. She served for a bit but had other interests and drifted away. Then came that voice calling again, but this time it was the need of high school youth. Honoring the talents of youth, being their mentor and guide to new possibilities, is a privilege; it is also energizing. This led to her calling to serve on the National Happening Committee as she continues to serve the youth in her diocese with Happening.
Jude Holcomb, the VP/Conference Coordinator for the HNC, attended Happening #26 in the Diocese of Florida in 1986. Jude began on the Happening National Committee at the Illinois Conference in 2004. She has served as Adult Member, Secretary, and VP/Conference Coordinator (currently). When not in “Happening Mode”, Jude is a college mathematics professor in Jacksonville. She has two grown daughters and five wonderful grandsons ranging in age from 6 weeks to 9 years. Fernandina Beach, FL and St Peter's Episcopal Church have been home for 31 years.
A cradle Episcopalian, Rick Peete has been involved in Youth Ministry since the 70s when he was an active leader in his parish in Los Angeles. Since then, he became much more involved in youth ministry programs at the diocesan level, leading to his election to the Happening Steering Committee in the Diocese of Chicago. Howdy! My name is Mekenzie Hardaway, and I am from the Diocese of West Texas. I’m originally from a little town called New Braunfels, Texas, but now I am currently a sophomore Spanish major at Texas A&M University, and the loudest and proudest member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2021! I happened at Happening #128, and since then God has rocked my world and given me opportunities to serve in our Reunion and Happening movements. I’ve served as a small family leader, a gofer, and a rector at our HIS Love (Happeners in Service & Love) Reunion #136, and now I have the amazing opportunity to continue serving and growing Happening on the Happening National Committee. Happening has such a special place in my heart because it showed me how much grace and unconditional love God has for me, that He is always with me, and that I am never alone. I love getting to share how awesome Jesus is with others when I get the chance to be a part of a Happening weekend, and it always amazes me how being a part of this movement makes us a part of such a unique community in Him. In addition to Happening, I love to listen to music and watch good movies, hang in my eno around campus, go to Fightin’ Texas Aggie football games, and practicar mi español! Thanks and Gig ‘Em!
Andrew Walker is from Miami, Florida, and is currently a student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He's from the Church of the Incarnation in the Diocese of Southeast Florida. I am senior in high school and plan to go to college for photography! I happened at DioLEX Happening #55, a gopher for #56, and was rector for #57. Personally I think of happening as a safe place where everyone accepts and loves everyone! Besides happening I am part of my diocesan youth board and counselor at our summer camp. I love to create music in song as well as with the guitar and ukulele.
