NATIONAL HAPPENING LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE 2016

Mark your calendars, gather your Happeners, and plan to attend the 2016 National Happening Leadership Conference! This year’s conference will be held in Live Oak, Florida at the Episcopal Center of the Diocese of Florida. Housing will be in hotel style rooms containing 2 double beds and private bath. All rooms are air-conditioned and include linens.

This year’s program will center on choosing to live into our calling as Christian leaders by saying "Here I am; send me!" We will delve into this topic by focusing on how we, as leaders, are first called by God, then empowered by God, and finally sent out by God to do His work in the world. Workshops will include topics on leading music, creative caritas, using videos and skits, creating prayer stations, writing talks, starting or rejuvenating your Happening, and worship. We will also hold Share Groups, which are a discussion format allowing participants to share how their Happening does various parts of the weekend schedule and individual “surprises." Networking with other diocese is a tremendous asset for Happening leaders.

During free time we will have the pool and gym open. Instructors will be at the climbing wall and lifeguards at the lake for canoeing and kayaking. We also have a low ropes course, archery and bike path. 

Attendees must arrive in time to be ready for our first session at 4 pm on Thursday, July 7. For those flying, Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) is the only airport nearby. Cars may be rented there; it is about 1.5 hours to The Center from JAX, and driving directions will be listed on the Happening website. We will also have limited airport pick up times. Please state need for transportation on your registration form.

The NHLC is a wonderful gathering of Happeners from around the country and even the world.  Please join us for a great weekend of worship, friendship, and just plain fun! We have been working very hard to put together this conference, and we cannot wait to see you in July!
